Aftercare

Aftercare instructions are very important for a tattoo.

Normally after every tattoo I place a special bandage dressing called “saniderm” over each tattoo. Saniderm is a second skin product that is placed over a tattoo to protect it from the air, germs, and you! If you are not allergic to adhesive products, I will be placing saniderm on your tattoo once its completed for the day. The saniderm stays on for 3-5 days, then is removed on the last night during your evening shower.

After removing the saniderm, wash your tattoo with antibacterial soap, and pat dry. Afterwards a small amount of non scented lotion should be applied. Lotion should be applied as needed when feeling dry.

Tattoos are glorified wounds, they need to be treated like a wound. If I have not placed saniderm on you, the tattoo must be washed a MINIMUM of three times a day.

After each washing, the tattoo should be pat dry with a single clean paper towel. Once you have dried off the tattoo, a small amount of ointment should be applied on the tattoo.

Recommended ointments I prefer my clients to use are coconut oil or the tattoo aftercare called “Redemption”.

After the first five days with your tattoo, you should be able to switch to using non scented lotion after every washing.

If you have any questions about your tattoo or its healing, please message me ASAP! I want everyone to feel safe and comfortable during this process.
